Is Salt the Only Thing That Helps Your Car Get Unstuck?

December 30th, 2017 by

Driving in the winter is much more dangerous than driving in the other seasons. Snow and ice can make the roads more slippery. Thankfully there is salt, which is used on roads and sidewalks to make sure that the water doesn’t freeze. Salt is even placed under your tires when you get stuck to help you get free. But is there anything else you can use?

Sand and kitty litter are both alternatives to salt. Kitty litter works by sucking in all the moisture around the tire, giving it a much dryer surface to grab onto. Sand works by providing grit. It also absorbs moisture as well. Sand and kitty litter are both less expensive than salt and work fairly well, so it is worth investing into either one.

Our staff at McKay’s Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram would love to help you out if you are unsure about which one you should use. So, don’t hesitate to give us a call!
